30 smoothies in 30 days (day 4): good moringa morning!

Welcome to day 4 of my 30 smoothies in 30 days! Today I am sharing a new smoothie I tried and loved, lovingly called Good Moringa Morning. This green smoothie has spinach, tart lime, amazing grass superfoods, hemp seeds, moringa powder, and frozen peach and mango.

I love using fresh greens in my smoothies but also really like taking it up a notch and adding superfoods in my combinations. Spirulina, amazing grass, and wheatgrass, are a few I keep on deck to kick up the nutrients in my smoothies, oatmeal, and water. I just recently learned about moringa powder and its benefits and knew I wanted to add it to my superfood arsenal.

Moringa is a plant and every single part of the moringa plant can be used. Often use in teas and tonic, it can also be used ground in powder form which is how I found it. People around the world use it to nourish skin, help treat anemia, constipation and other stomach pains, chronic headaches, kidney stones, fluid retention (bloat), high blood pressure, thyroid disorders, libido, and joint pain like arthritis. Moringa has 4 times the amount of vitamin A than carrots, 7 times the amount of vitamin C than oranges, 3 times the amount of potassium than bananas, and 4 times the amount of calcium than dairy milk. Moringa provides antioxidants, is anti-inflammatory, balances hormones, balances blood sugar levels, improves digestive health, and protects our brain health.

If all this sounds like something you need in your life, I highly suggest picking up some moringa powder. The taste is mild and for all these benefits, I am here for it!

This smoothie contained a serving of moringa powder and have you ever felt healthier simply because you know you’re eating something tooted as healthy? It’s called the placebo effect and I’m okay with it! If you think you’re healthier, I truly believe you’ll be healthier. Visualize the future you want and I think the universe aligns itself to help that visualization a reality.

Okay, enough of the power of moringa and the power of visualization. Here’s the recipe to this vibrant green smoothie!

  • 2 handfuls organic spinach, washed
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • 5 slices of frozen peaches
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 2 teaspoons moringa powder
  • 1 scoop amazing grass superfoods
  • 6 ounces filtered water

Place all ingredients in high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy and no more frozen fruit remains. Serve cold and enjoy. Remember: think healthy thoughts ❤

Good moringa morning to ya,

I believe in big hair and and live by the 5 (sometimes 10) second rule when food falls on the ground. I want to create a greener, simpler life for my little family while at the same time sharing everything I eat, yoga poses I try, and ideas about life with my smartphone attached to my hip. I'm sort of a hot mess living by the motto "fake it until you make it."
