What you put into your body after a workout is pretty dang important. You want something light, something that has protein and carbs and if it aids in muscle recovery that is even better.
This is a great post workout fuel option. I usually add pineapple to my post workout smoothies. Pineapples are anti-inflammatory and amazing for helping muscle recovery and alleviating any muscle soreness. This smoothie is great for post workout nausea as well. Sometimes if I hit the gym a little too hard I may get nauseous (especially if I do fasted cardio) and the ginger and lemon in this smoothie helps to balance out my stomach.
This smoothie is tropical tasting thanks to the coconut yogurt and refreshing. It’s a favorite of mine.
- 2 ribs celery
- 1 scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder
- 1 cup pineapple
- ½ banana
- ½ lemon juiced
- 1 inch ginger
- 1/3 coconut yogurt
- 6 ounces filtered water
Add all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until creamy and smooth. Enjoy immediately.
