Welcome to day 7 of my personal 30 smoothies in 30 days! I am loving that I am doing this and have been having so much fun in the kitchen with these creations. It’s nice to step away from my go to smoothies and try new concoctions.
The recipe I am sharing today is basically a dessert smoothie. The cacao powder offers a natural energy boost and the maca aids in hormone balance so this is a great smoothie for a midday Monday pick me up.
This weekend was jammed packed. A wedding, hair appointment, hanging out with friends, grocery shopping (let’s be real, grocery shopping is an exercise in its own right) and so much activity. I love busy weekends like this but they can also be so draining! I find that when I’m drained, I like to get my energy boost from natural sources and one way to do that is with cacao. And cacao is chocolate so I consider this smoothie a huge win for any chocolate lover out there.
- 1 banana
- 2 tablespoon almond butter
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder
- ½ tablespoon maca powder
- 1 scoop lion’s mane powder
- Dash of sea salt
- 1 cup macadamia milk
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Enjoy as an afternoon pick me up.
